Your lender will typically require you to carry an amount that is equal to your loan amount or the federal maximum allowed limits whichever is less. The maximum allowed coverage for a residential property under the NFIP guidelines is $250,000 and $500,000 for a commercial property. We can request higher limits through the Private Market underwriters we use but it is subject to approval on a case by case basis.
